G’day mates!
After our month in Japan (October), we’re ready to hit the road in November in a land where vast, rugged landscapes meet the thrill of off-road exploration: Western Australia! Our adventure begins in Perth, where we collect our 4WD pickup, our ticket to this wild journey. The weather is warming up, and the wildflowers are in full bloom, painting the landscape with vibrant colors. We’ll vent through remote tracks, camping under the vast outback sky and discovering hidden beaches. Get ready for an epic road trip through this incredible part of the world!
See you on the open road,
Alicia & Marco
Western Australia: A Vast and Wild Paradise
- Visa: Verify the visa requirements based on your nationality before traveling to Australia. Tourist visas are available. For us, the best option was the subclass 651 eVisitor, which gives you access for one year, a maximum of three months in a row. The visa is for free, and we got it granted within 48 hours. Check out your visa options here: Australian Department of Home Affairs – Visa Finder
- Currency: The official currency is the Australian Dollar (AUD), and credit cards are widely accepted.
- Language: English is the official language.
- Climate: Australia’s climate varies from tropical in the north to temperate in the south. Research the climate of your specific destination. Weatherspark offers a good overview of our route: Weather in Western Australia in November
- Public Transport: Consider domestic flights for long distances and rent a car for regional exploration. We booked a 4WD Pickup for almost 4 weeks to explore Western Australia.
- Driver’s License: An International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended.
- Flying a Drone: Australia has detailed drone regulations, including registration and safety requirements. Comply with the rules and respect no-fly zones.
